NEPA-Pot Hole Heaven

I have not laid down a Gripe for a while which doesn't mean I didn't have any. I have plenty but have not been able to post one in a week or so. Now on to my Gripe! As I was driving the other day, swerving left to right to avoid the potholes I thought to myself, "I can't take this anymore!" My insides were being shaken like a good Martini. As James Bond would say, "Shaken, not stirred". As I dangerously maneuvered to avoid these monsters, I finally couldn't move enough and hit the monster pictured with this Gripe. I thought I was a goner! This puppy was about 18 inches deep, 2 feet wide and filled with water. Kinda like Harveys Lake. My car lurched down into the abyss with a loud BANG! I immediately thought of the $1,000.00 plus bill for the damage. Thank god there was none. For sure I thought I broke my front axle or at least blew a tire. To my joy there was no damage. I was relieved, but outraged at what had just happened.

I gotta tell you, the streets in our area are a mess. Wilkes-Barre Blvd, 3rd Ave in Kingston, the Pierce St Bridge and lets not forget about Coal Street. Coal Street is now like the surface of the moon. Every time I go up Coal St. I feel like Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface. The other day I blacked out while driving up Coal St. and thought I was in Dorney Park. It's a disgrace! What pisses me off more is I see all of these projects like the sidewalks on Public Square and I think "Why can't we get grant money to fix our roads?" We have all of this casino tax money being given to our communities but I can tell you it cannot be used to fix roads. That is INSANE! We can get money for a Intermodel or should I say Intercommodal Center but nothing to fix roads. Nadda! I'm not sure how much more I can take. I know my car can't take much more. The roads and highways play a huge part of the infrastructure of our country and they are a mess.

Anyway, hitting that monster crater got me to thinking. I know my thinking is very dangerous. I am going to now post "The Pothole Of The Week" here on The Right To Gripe. If you encounter a big one, snap a shot and send it to me with it's location. Email me the pic at rkramden59@epix.net or send it over via text. Most of you know the number. The number of potholes in this area are endless so start sending them over. When I get a picture of a lunker hole, I will forward it to the community that it is in.
