Evil Comes to Newtown

Yesterday, pure evil entered the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.  The devil himself entered this wholesome school filled with innocent children who were learning math, science and Christmas Carols for the school show.  They had so much to look forward to in life and Satan himself came a calling.  Evil in it's most horrific form came to Sandy Hook in the guise of a mentally disturbed individual named Adam Lanza.  He was a 20 year old who suffered from a personality disorder and lived with his mother.  Lanza first killed his own mother in cold blood and then took her guns to the school where he slaughtered 20 children and 6 adults.  He also changed the lives of every student and every parent in the small town of Newtown.  Children will never mentally be the same while their parents will always be looking over their shoulders because of his carnage.  Why?  Why would he enter an elementary school and open fire on not one, but two classrooms full of children.  Why did he kill his own mother?  What went through his head as he pulled the triggers of two hand guns?  We will never know because police found Adam Lanza dead by his own doing.  He took the cowards way out, the only thing he could do after performing such a cowardly act.

Yes, evil came to Newtown yesterday.  It came to a town that had only one homicide in ten years.  It made children hide in closets and classroom corners in fear that their precious lives would be ended.  It had police running with children down hallways with their eyes closed so they would not see the blood and broken glass.  Evil had parents lined up outside wondering if their child would be walking out or coming out in a body bag.  Evil had a community of 27,000 people in tears yesterday over what was the second largest school shooting ever.  Why would the devil pick this quiet little community to perform his diabolical acts?  We will never know.  The one thing I do know, evil will never prevail.  Lucifer set forth a dastardly plan yesterday, but failed to realize that people will band together.  They went and prayed all over the country last night.  In small towns and big towns.  In cities and rural farm towns.  Evil came to Newtown yesterday, but he won't stay.  He will move on to another town.  He will enter the sole of another disturbed and weakened individual to do his bidding.  It will happen again. Today, tomorrow or a year from now, evil will come a knocking.  We will all grieve, but in the end we will band together for at least a few days to drive evil away.
